It's not always easy to be "the adult in the room", but by being mindful of how we are presenting ourselves to our students, we can be the catalysts of learning environments where mutual respect helps students be able to work on their own social-emotional growth. We will focus on how to "center" yourself for the start of a strong school day, set expectations that lower students' affective filters, as well as how to keep that poise when students need redirection.
